Helping Young People who are struggling with their emotional and mental health

As reported by the latest Digital NHS statistics, 1.54 million people were in contact with mental health services at the end of January 2022. Moreover, a record number of more than 400,000 children a month are being treated for mental health probelms, which shows an unprecedented wellbeing crisis in children and young adults.

Bespoke programmes to suit individual needs

All of our programmes are bespoke to suit the individual needs of each service user. We offer animal and equine therapy sessions onsite at our base in Hilderstone and also offer an outreach service.

Integration instead
of exclusion

In addition to our onsite offer at the farm, we also offer a unique outreach service for schools throughout Staffordshire, Derbyshire, and Cheshire where we take along our furry friends to work with the young people within the education setting.

Benefits of Animal Therapy

As well as improving general mood, animal therapy can be beneficial for a range of mental health conditions and disorders.
The comforting power of animals means interacting with them can help reduce feelings of anxiety and stress. People have also reported a reduction in feelings of boredom and loneliness when accompanied by one of our furry friends.
Animals provide a calming effect and assist us in improving negative emotions.
Thanks to these benefits, this therapeutic practice can be beneficial for people with:
• Anxiety
• Stress
• Depression
• Autism
• ADHD
• PTSD
• Bereavement
• Behavioural Issues
• School Refusal
• Social Skills
• Confidence
